Bills, Motions And Oversight Functions

The primary duty of a lawmaker is to represent the people, make laws and perform oversight. This is the record of that work in the 10th National Assembly.

Constructing roads, installing solar lights and building schools are not the primary responsibilities of a federal lawmaker. They are what a lawmaker attracts to a constituency. The primary responsibilities are lawmaking, representation and oversight, and they are discharged on the floor of the House.

Within three years in office Rt. Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu has developed and presented seventeen bills. All have passed First and Second Readings, and others stand at later stages. One, the South East Development Commission Bill, has passed into law.

The Record Is The Manifesto

Three years of representation stand on this website: the bills, the roads, the classrooms, the laboratories, the scholarships and the training. Constituents are asked to judge the work that has already been done.
